Week 3: Burnout Isn’t Just “Part of the Job.”
Last week we debunked the myth of the “stoic” health professional. This week, let’s take a look at another common belief: that burnout is simply an unavoidable part of a career in healthcare. This myth creates a dangerous culture where overwork and self-neglect are celebrated as signs of dedication.

Burnout, overwork, and sleepless nights aren’t a badge of honor — and they aren’t inevitable. Of course, the healthcare profession can be demanding, but there are ways to prevent burnout through proper work-life balance, setting boundaries, and seeking support when needed. To provide great care, systems and workplace culture must prioritize healthcare mental and physical health!
